#StandStrong is a movement created by Allianz Insurance and Women’s Aid to showcase the nation’s solidarity with women subjected to domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse is a complex issue which takes many forms. It affects 1 in 4 women in Ireland*. To encourage more women to speak up, we need to remove the stigma around the issue and remind those impacted how strong they truly are. We want to show women that even though they may feel alone, the whole country is behind them.
As well as raising awareness about the issue, we need to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid to support their work helping women and families impacted.
You can get involved in the #StandStrong movement by:
- Joining the #StandStrong movement on Monday 6th February 2023. We’re inviting people from all over Ireland to come together as one to complete the Warrior Pose, and share a photo of it on social media using the hash tag #StandStrong to show their support and help start life-saving conversations.
Women’s Aid is a leading national organisation working to prevent and address the impact of domestic violence and abuse including coercive control, in Ireland since 1974.
They do this by advocating, influencing, training, and campaigning for effective responses to reduce the scale and impacts of domestic abuse on women and children in Ireland and providing high quality, specialised, integrated, support services.
If you are someone who is experiencing abuse, please don’t suffer in silence. Women’s Aid is here for you.
